New England is a 5.5-point favorite in the current Patriots vs. Packers odds, down from the opening line of -6.5. The over-under is 56.5 points, the second-highest total of the week. The Patriots have won five straight, while the Packers nearly beat the unbeaten Rams last week and rank in the top 12 in total offense and defense. It makes for a must-see matchup, so before you make any Patriots vs. Packers picks, check out what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

In a straight-up, pick’em format, their proprietary computer model went 176-80 last season and beat over 95 percent of CBS Office Pool players in 2016 and ’17, performing better than 98 percent of experts tracked by NFLPickWatch.com during that span. Additionally, it went 48-34 on all A-rated picks last season, and $100 bettors who followed it the past two seasons are up nearly $4,000.

The model was a blistering 13-1 straight up last week. Additionally, it was a strong 6-0 on all top-rated picks in Week 8, including nailing the Redskins (-1) over the Giantsand the Seahawks (+3) over the Lions. That perfect mark in Week 8 improved its overall run to 68-43 on all top-rated picks. Anybody who has been following those picks is way, way up.

Now, the model has simulated the Packers vs. Patriots 10,000 times. We can tell you the model is leaning towards the over, but it has also produced a strong against-the-spread pick that hits 60 percent of the time. This pick is available only at SportsLine.

The computer knows that since starting 1-2, the Patriots have turned it around to win five straight. Tom Brady has passed for 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions, buoyed by running back James White, who has 55 receptions on 74 targets out of the backfield, seventh in the NFL in catches regardless of position. He’s tied for fourth with six receiving touchdowns.

Rookie running back Sony Michel has been a boost to the run game, amassing 98 to 112 yards in three straight games. However, Michel (422 yards, 4.4 average) is questionable to suit up Sunday with a knee injury after missing Monday’s game at Buffalo.

New England’s defense ranks 25th in yards allowed but only 13th in points allowed, and is No. 2 with 11 interceptions.

The Pats are 4-0 at home, but that doesn’t mean they can cover the spread with Rodgers and the Pack coming to town.

The Packers are a Ty Montgomery fumble, Mason Crosby kicking meltdown and questionable Clay Matthews roughing penalty away from being 6-1 instead of 3-3-1. Green Bay is only .500 despite having the NFL’s fifth-ranked offense and 12th-ranked defense.

Rodgers has been his usual All-Pro self, throwing for 13 touchdowns and one interception. He’ll face a Patriots defense that ranks 26th against the pass, allowing 289 yards per game through the air. Green Bay’s defense, meanwhile, ranks seventh against the pass and has 23 sacks, many of them from up the middle, as nose tackle Kenny Clark and inside linebacker Blake Martinez have four each.

Who wins Packers vs. Patriots? And which side covers a whopping 60 percent of the time? Visit SportsLine now to see which side you need to be all over, all from the incredible computer model that has returned nearly $4,000 to $100 bettors, and find out.

Seattle (4-3) is a long ways away from winning the NFC West. In fact, they’ll never catch the Rams.

But after winning four of five, Russell Wilson and company are in the hunt for a Wild Card spot and can do themselves a huge favor by taking down the Los Angeles Chargers.

The LA Chargers (5-2) trails the Chiefs by 1.5 games in the AFC West and are coming off their bye week. Winners of four straight, they’ve played better on the road than at home, and there’s fewer road spots harder to play in than CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

Philip Rivers and Russell Wilson are both on top of their game right now so the quarterback match-up will be a key to determining the winner.

Vikings vs Lions

The Minnesota Vikings host the Detroit Lions in a NFC North divisional matchup. Both teams are coming off a loss, so both are hungry for a win. It would be real nice if the Vikings can get a win considering Minnesota’s bye is next week.

Stefon Diggs is dealing with a rib injury and is listed as questionable moving into Sunday. Chad Beebe was called up from the practice squad, so that could be a sign that Diggs doesn’t play. It could also mean Beebe will just be used as a special teams guy.

Watch Vikings vs Lions Livestream Free In Hd Tv

If that’s the case and Diggs doesn’t play, then I would assume Thielen would be double covered throughout most of the game. If he is double teamed, then I would think Laquon Treadwell will get some more targets, as well as Aldrick Robinson. Obviously Robinson is kind of a deep-threat, touchdown target. Robinson has five receptions for 95 yards and three touchdowns.

Treadwell has seemed to improve over the past few weeks. He caught all four of his targets against Arizona and all three against the Jets. Last week he caught thee of five targets against the Saints. This season he’s recorded 46 catches for 431 yards and one touchdown.

With Roc Thomas and Dalvin Cook both out, that leaves Latavius Murray to take over a majority of the workload. Mike Boone will be a solid backup for Murray when he needs relief. Boone has rushed for 47 yards off 11 carries in the six games he’s participated in this season. If you watched the preseason, you know that he was pretty productive.

Murray will hopefully continue to stay consistent. The past three games he’s had 52 carries for 280 yards and four rushing touchdowns. My thought is Boone will have 6 rushes for 30 yards. I think he’ll be beneficial in the passing game, only a few catches though, nothing too crazy.

Let’s say the Vikings do lose this game. The Vikes will be 4-4-1, will Zimmer be on the hot seat? Should he be? I think he’s going to address issues after the game if that is the case, as in he may blame himself.

I believe the management wouldn’t fire Zimmer, but anything can happen. Could George Edwards be on the hot seat if the Lions put up more than 30 points? I might overthink things, but as a fan I’m getting sick of mediocrity. Hold people accountable (not saying it’s either of their faults).

I get Minnesota have had injuries with some key players, but there shouldn’t be excuses. There’s a 53-man roster for a reason, and if the backups can’t get the job done then maybe they should find different backups

The Minnesota Vikings are hoping to be healthier at the running back position for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

The Vikings have been without Cook the past four games and he has appeared in just three games on the season, totaling 98 yards rushing on 36 carries and 107 yards receiving on nine catches.

Cook, if healthy, would provide an explosive component out of the backfield that has been missing during his absence. While it remains to be seen how much work Cook would get Sunday should he play, the Vikings could elect to ease in Cook alongside Latavius Murray, who has carried the load while Cook was out.

Kerryon Johnson might be the Lions’ MVP at this point of the season as he has forced defenses to respect a previously dormant running game. Johnson has two 100-yard rushing days on the year, and he has a knack for making the first tackler miss. Four of his 77 carries have gone for negative yards.

LeGarrette Blount has settled into the big-back role for a Lions team that wants to run the ball 25-plus times a game. The Lions haven’t always run it well this year, but they’ve been effective with the carries they’ve had and are currently tied for eighth in the league at 4.7 yards per carry.

The Vikings have the NFL’s fifth-ranked rush defense (91.8 ypg), but they won’t have linebacker Anthony Barr on Sunday. Linval Joseph is one of the league’s better nose tackles, and Sheldon Richardson has been better than advertised after signing with the Vikings as a free agent in the spring.

The Vikings have one of the most physical defenses in the NFL, and Matthew Stafford has historically taken a pounding when he has played Minnesota. Stafford practiced all week with a glove on his non-throwing hand after injuring his left pinky against the Seahawks, but the injury should not be an issue Sunday.

What will, is the Lions are playing their first game without slot receiver Golden Tate, who was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. Look for some combination of TJ Jones and Brandon Powell to take Tate’s snaps, though Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay remain the Lions’ top receivers and should get the bulk of the targets from Stafford.

Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter (eight sacks) give the Vikings one of the best edge-rushing combos in the NFL, and both have given Lions tackles Taylor Decker and Rick Wagner fits in the past. Harrison Smith is excellent at disguising his coverage at safety, while the Vikings hope to have top cornerback Xavier Rhodes back in the lineup after missing last week’s game against the Saints with a foot injury.

The Vikings have struggled to run the ball at times this year in part because top running back Dalvin Cook has missed five games with a hamstring injury. Cook was a limited participant in practice this week, and if he returns for the first time since Sept. 27, he’ll give the Vikings a big-play threat in their backfield.

Latavius Murray has shouldered much of the rushing load in Cook’s absence. He has averaging 4.7 yards per carry, but has topped 70 yards just once, in a Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Vikings are a much better team when they run the football, so look for them to feed Cook and/or Murray early Sunday, even though they’ll be without left guard Tom Compton.

The Lions have the worst rushing defense in the NFL at 144.6 yards per game, but new addition Damon Harrison showed how impactful he can be with seven tackles, including two for loss, last week against the Seahawks. Harrison is a load for centers to handle, and he should make life easier for middle linebacker Jarrad Davis. But the Lions have given up far too many big plays on the ground this year.

The 5-3 Houston Texans travel to the Mile High City to face the 3-5 Denver Broncos at Broncos Stadium at Mile High Sunday.

The Texans are on a five-game winning streak after starting the season 0-3. Quarterback Deshaun Watson is coming off of a five-touchdown performance against the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunate for Houston in the 42-23 win, they lost receiver Will Fuller. However, the front office traded for Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas midweek just before the Tuesday trade deadline.

The Broncos are trying to get younger on the outside with Courtland Sutton ostensibly taking Thomas’ role. Quarterback Case Keenum has not been the season savior he was for the Minnesota Vikings last season. Denver is trying to keep their head above water in a highly competitive AFC West where the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers reign supreme.

According to Bovada, the Broncos are favored by -1, tied with Chargers-Seahawks for the slimmest odds in Week 9.

Texans-Broncos has the fifth-lowest point total of the week at 46 points. Chicago-Buffalo (37.5), Dallas-Tennessee (40), San Francisco-Oakland (44), and NY Jets-Miami (43) have lower point totals for the week. The Week 9 matchup between the Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos features two teams heading in opposite directions. After Houston started the season 0-3, it looked like Bill O’Brien would be the first head coach fired this season. Since their five-point loss to the lowly Giants in Week 3, though, the Texans have rattled off five straight wins and are now in full control of the AFC South by two games. With their remaining schedule featuring just one team currently above .500 (Washington), the Texans now have a legitimate shot at not only winning their division, but also earning a first round bye in the playoffs.

While the Texans have begun to take off, the Broncos are coming back down to earth. After starting 2-0, Denver has lost five of its last six games, including a stretch of four straight losses before beating the two-win Arizona Cardinals two weeks ago. The Broncos are a team in flux, caught between fighting for their season and preparing for their future. Denver is currently in third place in the AFC West behind the Chiefs and Chargers, who have as many combined losses as the Broncos do wins. Denver is at a crossroads heading into this game, the outcome of which may determine the fate of the rest of the season, and the long-term future of the Broncos. The 2018 season didn’t start out the way Watson had hoped. After missing the final nine games of his breakout rookie season with a torn ACL, Watson came into this year as the unquestioned leader of the Texans’ offense and the franchise’s future. The team’s immediate success, and likely the job security of O’Brien, would depend on his ability to repeat or surpass his inaugural performance.

The Texans would start the season with three straight losses, two of which came against teams that have a combined four wins this season (Titans three, Giants one). Watson was bad in those games, completing only 59 percent of his passes and throwing costly, game-deciding interceptions while only posting an 89.8 quarterback rating.

Since their horrid start, Watson and the Texans have flipped the switch, winning five straight games. Granted, Houston has yet to beat a team with a winning record, but a win is a win in the NFL, and the Texans’ 5-3 mark now gives them a two-game lead in the underwhelming AFC South. In the last five weeks, Watson has righted the ship, improving his completion percentage to a healthy 67 percent while throwing 10 touchdowns and boosting his passer rating to 104.4 during the win streak. In a win against Miami last Thursday night, Watson turned in his best performance of the season, completing 16-of-20 passes for 239 yards with five touchdowns.

Perhaps more impressive than the statistical improvement is the fact that Watson has been playing with bruised lungs and ribs since the Texans’ Week 5 win against Dallas. The injury was bad enough to keep him off the team’s charter flight to Jacksonville two weeks ago for fear that the cabin pressure of the plane could inflict further damage. He traveled the 800 miles from Houston to Florida’s Atlantic coast on a team bus. How his body will react in the thin air of Denver with the likes of Von Miller chasing after him will be something to keep an eye on.

2. Welcome to Houston, Demaryius Thomas! (But stay in Denver this week.)

When Houston’s second-leading pass catcher, Will Fuller, went down with a torn ACL last Thursday night against Miami, the Texans’ front office knew they had to make a move to replace the third-year wide receiver from Notre Dame. Fuller’s replacement, and the complement to DeAndre Hopkins, wasn’t on the Houston depth chart already. The team’s third-leading receiver, rookie Keke Coutee, has shown promise with 21 receptions at 9.3 yards per catch, but he has already been sidelined for four games with two separate hamstring injuries. Backup receivers Vyncint Smith and Sammie Coates have combined for a grand total of six targets and two catches. And running backs Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue (a combined 22 receptions with just one TD) are both reliable check-down targets out of the backfield, but not necessarily game-breakers in the passing game. Houston had to make a move.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Broncos and Texans came to an accord. Thomas and the remaining $17.5 million on his contract for next season would be shipped to Houston for a 2019 fourth-round pick and a swap of seventh-round picks. The Texans were able to replace their second-leading receiver this season in Fuller with the Broncos’ second all-time leading receiver in yards (9,055) and touchdown receptions (60) in Thomas. Thomas also was second in receiving this season for the Broncos (36 catches, 402 yards, 11.2 ypc), trailing Emmanuel Sanders in both receptions and yards while matching him with three touchdown catches.

Houston’s trade for another impact receiver was inevitable as soon as Fuller went down. With a two-game division lead, the Texans aren’t just fighting for an AFC South title, but also a potential first-round playoff bye. The loss of Fuller also exposed the Texans’ lack of offensive depth in terms of reliable playmakers, as noted by the production gap of Hopkins and Fuller compared to the other receiving options. The addition of Thomas gives Watson, who is still clearly still developing as a second-year quarterback, an extremely reliable and big-bodied (6-3, 229) veteran who is still capable of impacting games and should eventually fit well into O’Brien’s more balanced pro-style offense. The only question is how quickly Watson and Thomas will mesh. Since the deal was finalized on Tuesday, that leaves little time for Thomas to become acclimated to the timing of a new offense and an inexperienced quarterback, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Thomas earn minimal targets at first. Surely, Thomas will receive more attention from Watson than he got from Case Keenum in recent weeks, as his targets haven’t topped seven since the second week of the season.

3. What’s next for the Broncos?

Broncos team president and general manager John Elway knew exactly what he was doing this past March when he signed game agent quarterback Case Keenum to a two-year deal for $36 million. Keenum was coming off a career year with the Vikings, filling in for injured starters Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford, throwing for 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns and leading Minnesota to the NFC Title game.

The deal signaled to the Broncos fan base that Elway was in win-now mode, and not to panic about the team’s 5-11 mark the season before. But the contract also gave Elway the leeway to move on from Keenum should things not pan out. With the way Keenum is playing this season — he’s tied for league lead in interceptions (10) with only 10 touchdown passes, ranking 19th in passing yards per game (263.8) and 28th in QBR (41.4) — the Broncos might be prepping for their long-term future sooner rather than later, and that future likely won’t include Keenum or head coach Vance Joseph.

The performance of Keenum, the move to trade Thomas, Joseph’s inability to beat division foes (0-7 vs. Chiefs) and a 3-5 record has the Broncos walking a fine line in 2018. While they aren’t publicly admitting to throwing in the towel for the season, the franchise can’t claim to be in the win-now mode that Elway was hinting at this spring. Elway’s new mission is to first and foremost revamp his offense, cut ties with veterans on expensive, expiring contracts like Thomas, and build around younger, cheaper players like running backs Royce gameman and Phillip Lindsay.

For Thomas, the writing was pretty much on the wall for him and his rather large 2019 cap hit when Elway selected receivers Courtland Sutton (second round) and DaeSean Hamilton (fourth round) in this spring’s draft. Sutton (17 catches, 327 yards, TD, 19.1 ypc), a younger and quicker version of Thomas with big-play ability, figures to see an increased role within the offense lining up opposite Emmanuel Sanders.

If the Broncos have in fact shifted to a total rebuilding mode, they already have two franchise cornerstones and premiere pass rushers in linebackers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. Miller (eight sacks) is a once-in-a generation talent, and Chubb, who leads all rookies in sacks with seven, looks like he could follow in Miller’s footsteps in the coming years. But Miller is in his eighth season, likely heading towards the end of his peak years, and the Broncos defense that just a couple seasons ago was among the best ever statistically now ranks as one of the worst against the rush and could certainly use some fine tuning in the secondary.

Elway may not admit it to the Broncos faithful, but more dramatic changes may be coming to the Mile High football club, and the trading of Thomas before the deadline may just be the beginning. With younger, less experienced players seeing more playing time and four straight games against opponents with winning records upcoming, the Broncos may be thinking about their place in next year’s draft before too long. The Texans’ offense is hitting its stride, averaging nearly 28 points in their last five games (all wins) after averaging fewer than 20 in their first three (all losses). Lamar Miller, Watson and Blue average a combined 133 yards rushing per game and could give Denver’s poor run defense major headaches, especially on third downs when the Texans convert on 65 percent of their running plays. Denver’s best chance to beat Houston has to come via their dangerous pass rushing duo of Von Miller and Chubb. Watson has been sacked 26 times this season, more than any other AFC quarterback, and he still has a tendency to turn the ball over (7 interceptions, 7 fumbles).

Steelers vs Ravens

Steelers vs Ravens :John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens (4-4) have frustratingly lost two straight games, temporarily hurting their playoff chances. The Ravens welcome the Steelers to M&T Bank Stadium in a matchup that will have heavy AFC playoff ramifications as Week 9 action continues on Sunday afternoon.

Pittsburgh enters Sunday on a three-game winning streak, which includes two wins against AFC North opponents, since losing to Baltimore the first time around. The Ravens handed the Steelers an early-season loss at Heinz Field on Sept. 30, and have lost three of four games since that first meeting.

Ben Roethlisberger returned to practice Thursday and will play on Sunday after being removed from the injury report. Big Ben currently has a fractured finger, but in his non-throwing hand, which means the veteran signal caller will likely wear a cast and move on business as usual. Tackle Marcus Gilbert (knee) is currently ruled as doubtful, and will likely miss another week.

After reports surfaced saying Le’Veon Bell could re-join the team following their bye week, Bell was a no-show this week. James Conner is currently pacing Bell’s peak-production performances, meaning the Steelers offense is just fine in Bell’s absence. As the trade deadline passed, it is looking more likely Bell becomes an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

Baltimore will be without starting tackles Ronnie Stanley and James Hurst. Both are nursing ankle injuries that could linger well past the Ravens’ bye next week.

Running back Alex Collins, simply OK this season averaging 3.8 yards per carry, is expected to play through a foot injury which limited him in practice during the week. Ty Montgomery was acquired from the Green Bay Packers for a seventh-round pick, and he will push Collins and incumbent — equally as ineffective — Buck Allen for backfield touches.

Bears vs Bills

Bears vs Bills : NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday afternoon that the Bears have officially placed offensive guard Kyle Long on Injured Reserve with his foot injury.

Chicago signed running back Taquan Mizzell Sr. to the active roster in a corresponding move. Rapoport continued with his report by mentioning that Long could technically return to the team late in the season if needed.

The decision to place Long on Injured Reserve comes mere days after Rapoport originally reported that the veteran guard would miss 6-8 weeks with his foot injury. Although this timeline was based on upcoming tests that Long was slated to have done. Being placed on IR with a designation to return was always an option.

Originally selected with the 13th-overall pick in the 2013 draft, the former Oregon Ducks offensive lineman quickly became a key contributor in the Windy City. As a rookie, Long started all 16 games at right guard, helping the Bears achieve the lowest sack total (30) since 2008 and the lowest sack-percentage (4.9) since 1982. He earned a Pro Bowl nod while paving the way for running back Matt Forte.

During his second season, Long started 15 games for the Bears (inactive in week 15) and earned another trip to the Pro Bowl while Chicago continued to produce on offense. Interestingly enough, he switched to right tackle at the beginning of the 2015 season. He still earned yet another trip to the Pro Bowl after starting all 16 games at right tackle.

Unfortunately for Long, the next two seasons were both down years as he missed eight games in 2016 and six games in 2017. He ended both seasons on Injured Reserve and left a big hole along the offensive line. He was playing well during the first half of the 2018 season, but this latest injury could threaten yet another season.

With a slight lead in the NFC North, the Bears will try to hold off the Lions, Packers, and Vikings throughout the back half of the season. All three teams are within a game of each other so a slip-up could be costly. However, keeping ahead of the rivals will be far more difficult for this Bears squad without Long in the rotation. He’s been the best offensive linemen in Chicago for his entire career.

However, the Bears have time before the next NFC North battle. The Buffalo Bills are next on the docket with a defense that harassed Tom Brady throughout last week’s loss. Backup Bryan Witzmann will need to be at the top of his game in order to help protect Mitch Trubisky

Chelsea vs Crystal

Chelsea vs Crystal : will be seeking to continue their excellent start to the Premier League season on Sunday when they host London rivals Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues advanced in the Carabao Cup against Derby County on Wednesday, and in their last top-flight outing, they were impressive in the way they dismantled Burnley 4-0.

Maurizio Sarri will be delighted with the manner in which his team have performed despite the recent injury to Eden Hazard.

Palace are big underdogs for this one and are finding wins tough to come by in the early stages of 2018-19. Manager Roy Hodgson will at least feel buoyed by the performance in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal last weekend.

Here is how the bookmakers are assessing both teams ahead of this clash, the broadcast details for the fixture and a preview of what’s to come in this capital derby.

With Hazard below his best against Manchester United and absent for the clash with Burnley due to a back problem, Chelsea needed a new talisman to emerge in those fixtures. Few would’ve anticipated Ross Barkley to be that player.

The former Everton man endured a challenging first season with the Blues, but a run of games recently has brought the best from him, and suddenly he’s become a first-team regular under Sarri.

Per Goal UK, it’s been a long time since an English midfielder has been on a goalscoring run like his:

Crucially for Chelsea, it’s likely Hazard will be back in action again this weekend following his recent layoff. Blues assistant manager Gianfranco Zola said the Belgium star “is looking quite good for the weekend” earlier in the week, per Rory O’Callaghan of Sky Sports.

Should Hazard line up, the battle down Chelsea’s left flank and Palace’s right will most likely be vital in determining how this game goes. After all, Hazard has been mesmeric at times this season and is still the joint top-scorer in the Premier League with seven goals to his name.

However, in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he will be up against a pretty formidable right-back. The 20-year-old has been a force of nature in defence for the Eagles:

For Palace, there were positives last weekend against Arsenal, as they dug in late on to grab a point after seeing a lead slip away.

Following the fixture, much of the talk has been about Wilfried Zaha, who was deemed to have been felled for Palace’s second penalty on the day, although there were some suggestions he went down easily.

Zaha posted on his Instagram Story on Tuesday that he received racist abuse and death threats online after the match, per the Press Association (h/t the Guardian).

Hodgson had his say on the comments that have come the way of his star forward:

Palace can be dangerous away from home. They have the capability to defend well for long spells, and Zaha provides an exceptional outlet when the game does become stretched.

Even so, Chelsea are unlikely to lose patience or lose their shape, meaning they will keep the visitors penned in in their own final third. With Hazard back and Barkley in brilliant form, they will eventually do enough to get through and keep the pressure on at the summit of the table.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea vs Crystal Palacewill be seeking to continue their excellent start to the Premier League season on Sunday when they host London rivals Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

City are clear favourites according to bet 365 who rate the hosts’ chances at 11/100. A draw comes at a price of 10/1 while it’s 28/1 for Southampton to pull off an upset.

This is City’s third game in seven days and they will be pleased with the return from the week so far, having won two in two.

Although losing De Bruyne to another long-term injury on Thursday was a considerable blow, there is no doubt that City have the depth in midfield to see off Southampton. The likes of David Silva, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden are all capable of creating chances for the forwards.

Remarkably, City have the best defensive and attacking record in the league having conceded three and scored 27 in 10 matches, which makes them deserved favourites to retain their title. Going two points clear of Liverpool would certainly give them a confidence boost.

It is not surprising that few experts are backing Southampton to stop the Blues’ charge as Hughes’ team is yet to meet their potential this term. Their only victory of the league campaign to date came with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on September 1, and the fact that they conceded six goals over two games against Liverpool and Chelsea could indicate that this will be another tricky encounter.

The South Coast outfit will be hopeful their back line can use the momentum from consecutive clean sheets in their last two outings and provide some resistance against in-form City.
